American Express Raised to 'Buy' at Goldman; Brokers Upgraded

U.S. credit-card lender, was raised to ''buy'' from ''neutral''
at Emma Goldman Sachs Group Inc. arsenic the New York-based house upgraded
brokers and plus managers.

''We have got reached an inflexion point for pillory with little
credit exposure, or where exposure is marked to market,'' Goldman
analysts including London-based wrote in a note
to clients today.

American Express added 28 cents to $46.83 at 12:01 p.m. in
Germany.

Brokers and plus directors were raised to ''attractive''
from ''neutral'' by Goldman.

Franklin Resources Inc., director of the John Hope John Hope Franklin and
Templeton common funds, was boosted to ''buy'' from ''neutral.''
